A couple of weeks ago I started stocking my necklaces and earrings at Obus! Needless to say I am very excited to have my work alongside that of this awesome Melbournian label. I am loving their latest collection of Mexican inspired gear. Very Frida Kahlo! Although I have to make sure that I don’t visit too often. When I popped into the High St store on the weekend I walked out with this pair of  very spunky melissa sandals that I’m planning on wearing with some patterned socks this summer.

I have also been thinking a bit about this Baggu backpack! Hmmmm… maybe I’ll just think of my earnings from Obus as more of an exchange :)

Also, here are a few not so fabulous iphone images I took of my goodies in store.

I think this was my favourite collection of images for the week. I find that violet, blue grey and fluoro orange combo very appealing! Just one day to go!

Last week, (from Wednesday night through to Sunday) I was lucky enough to participate in the Craft Victoria ‘Open Studio’ at Design Made Trade.  For this event, myself and 11 other Designer / makers set-up temporary  studio spaces in which we worked for the duration of the show. It was a fabulous 4 days and I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know, and share and observe the skills and practice of the other Craft Victoria peeps: Elizabeth Yong of Primoeza, the fabulous Milly Flemming from Craft Victoria (who I also have to give a massive thank you to for the awesome job she did in organising the whole Open Studio event!!), Milly’s gorgeous twin sissy Stephanie De Kuijer, Kirsten Perry,  Nicholas JonesEmma GreenwoodMaryann Talia Pau, as well as my lovely studio buddies Leah Jackson, Andrea Shaw of Stampel Studio and Matt Thompson of Mattt Bags. Thank you to everyone who popped in and said hello!!

This morning my partner Louis and I crawled into the enCounter window at Craft Victoria and installed my display! My pieces will be up until the 30th of July. If you’re around that end of town you should pop past and have a peek :) I have some brooch versions of the pieces in store too. Here are some pics that my lovely studio buddy Dawn Tan took this evening.

I am very excited to share that my jewellery is featured in this months Peppermint Magazine! When I saw my works on the pages I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face! So happy!!

my brooches and necklace! Yay!

This Sunday I will have a stall at Markit at Federation square and I have some new stock! Little geometric cushions made with my own digitally printed fabric, some digital prints and some new long, beaded necklaces on sterling silver chain!

I’m also looking forward to seeing the printed leggings and totes of my studio buddies Harvest Textiles!

Anyway, pop on down for a visit. It’s on from 10-5.

The lovely ladies at Harvest Textiles have organised a series of workshops taught by local artists, designers and makers and I am lucky enough to have been asked to teach one! I will be taking a two session workshop in which participants will create an abstract geometric collage. I will then take home and scan everyone’s designs and develop them into individual brooches – mini wearable versions of everyone’s artworks! I’m am sooo looking forward to taking the class and if you think you might be interested in participating in my workshop or one of the other workshops by people such as Beci Orpin, Abbey Seymour from Goldenink Collaborative or Liz from Betty Jo designs, you should have a look at Harvest Workroom here.

On the 5th, 6th and 7th of May my sister and I are headed to Adelaide for the Bowerbird Bazaar! I can’t wait! I haven’t been to Adelaide (or as my sister calls it ‘Radelaide’) since I was about 12.  Now… back to the brooch factory for me so that I actually have some stock to sell!
